Measuring for Interior Shutters
Before measuring for your shutters you must decide how they will be mounted. Depending on the window construction you may want to mount your shutters either on inside of the window casing (frame that holds the window), or, mounted on the wall around the outside of window.
If you have a window casing that is deep enough you may choose an "inside mount".
In this case your width measurement would be from the inside edges of the window casing, and your chosen height.
If you prefer to have an "outside mount" then your width measurement would include the space where the shutters would be attached to the wall or molding around the window.
Height measurments depend upon how much of the window you choose to cover. For instance, cafe style shutters cover the bottom half of the window, whereas full length shutter measurements depend upon whether you choose inside or outside mounting.
Take measurements in three places on both the width and height and provide the lowest one, within 1/6 th of an inch, with your order.
